Geology and Forestry Program for Scouts

If your scout is looking to earn more badges this summer, bring them to Squire Boone Caverns for an experience like no other! - The Geology and Forestry Scout programs are structured to assist Scouts in their understanding of geology and forestry by exploring the natural beauty and wonders in the cave and forest area of Squire Boone Caverns.

Trained instructors use a combination of lectures and hands-on projects to encourage the Scouts’ learning process and classes are designed to meet the requirements of the individual Scout badge criteria. When the class has been completed, each workbook is graded and given back to the Scout with a certificate of completion. Classes are available for Webelos, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

The Squire Boone Caverns Scout programs incorporate fun and education and all students in the Geology and Forestry classes, will participate in a caverns tour and visit the craftspeople in the village as they demonstrate old-fashioned candle-making, corn-grinding and lye soap-making. They can also visit the other shops in the log cabin village, such as the rock shop and Boone’s Kitchen and Candy Shop. It’s a day of learning and fun wrapped up in one package.

Overnight camping is also available, be sure to inquire upon registration.

Classes are limited in size to insure each Scout gets plenty one-on-one attention. Please call or email to register: 1-888-934-1804 | 812-732-4388 | spelunk@squireboone.com
